Individual Therapy
Thoughtful Therapy for Lasting Change
There are times in life when the ways we’ve learned to cope no longer seem to work.
You may find yourself feeling more anxious, overwhelmed, or emotionally drained than usual. Old memories or experiences may begin resurfacing. Relationships might feel harder to navigate, or you may simply have the sense that something in your life needs to shift.
Many people who begin therapy have already spent years trying to understand things on their own. They’ve reflected, read, talked with friends, and done their best to move forward.
Therapy offers a safe place to go deeper with someone who is fully focused on helping you make sense of what you’re experiencing.
The things we carry often make more sense once we have the space and support to look at them carefully.
Why People Choose Therapy
People seek therapy for many different reasons, but often there is a growing sense that something in life is no longer working.
You may be experiencing:
Anxiety
Panic
PTSD or the effects of past trauma
Depression
Relationship challenges or major relationship transitions
Grief and loss
Burnout
Sleep issues
Feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected from yourself
Sometimes therapy begins after a major life event. Other times it begins simply because you’ve reached a point where you want things to feel different.
I believe you can feel better
My work is thoughtful, collaborative, and active.
During our sessions, we will explore the patterns, experiences, and beliefs that may be shaping what you’re going through. I engage directly helping us look more closely at what may be happening beneath the surface.
I believe that humor, creativity, and intuition all have a place in therapy alongside evidence-based clinical work.
Over time, many people notice meaningful shifts such as:
Feeling less hypervigilant or emotionally overwhelmed
Developing greater self-understanding and self-compassion
Setting clearer boundaries in relationships
Feeling more aligned with their values and goals
Responding to life’s challenges with greater steadiness
Therapy isn’t about “fixing” who you are. More often, it’s about understanding yourself more deeply and creating space for change and new possibilities.
Therapeutic Approaches I Use
-
IFS - Internal Family Systems
I am an IFS therapist and have completed Level 1 training with the IFS Institute. IFS helps us understand the different “parts” of ourselves that shape how we think, feel, and respond to experiences. This approach can be particularly helpful when working with self-criticism, emotional overwhelm, or internal conflict.
-
EMDR - Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing
I am an EMDR-trained clinician. EMDR is a well-established evidence based therapy for helping people process traumatic or distressing experiences so they no longer feel as present or overwhelming in daily life.
-
CBT - Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
CBT helps identify patterns of thinking and behavior that may be contributing to anxiety, depression, or other challenges and supports developing new ways of responding.
Getting Started
Therapy sessions are currently offered through virtual appointments for adults throughout California, with the potential for in-person sessions in Oakland in the future.
If you’re considering therapy, please schedule a free 15-minute phone consultation. This gives us a chance to briefly talk about what you’re looking for and see whether working together feels like a good fit.
